Flameproof distribution boxes in Zone 1 and Zone 2 of explosive gas atmospheres shall use dedicated grounding conductors.。If this grounding conductor is laid in the same protective conduit as the phase conductor, it shall have insulation equal to that of the phase conductor. In this case, metal conduits and cable metal sheaths, etc., can only serve as auxiliary grounding conductors.。

In Zone 2 of explosive gas atmospheres, flameproof luminaires may use metal conduits with reliable electrical connections as grounding conductors, but pipes used for conveying hazardous substances shall not be used.。

For grounding of the explosion-proof distribution box in dust environments, metal conduits or metal components with reliable electrical connections can be used as grounding wires. To improve grounding reliability, the grounding main line should be connected to the grounding body at no fewer than two points in different directions within the explosive hazardous area. The grounding device of the explosion-proof distribution box should be set separately from the grounding device of an independent lightning rod, but can be combined with the grounding device of a lightning rod installed on buildings to prevent direct lightning strikes; it can also be combined with the grounding device for lightning-induced surge protection. The grounding resistance value should take the lowest of these values.
